Day 23. What can you do for yourself when you are having a bad day or struggling which will help you?

  • not push myself to do the most challenging things
  • do comforting things, not compel myself to keep achieving i.e. give myself a break
  • ask for comfort / support
  • talk to someone
  • encourage myself and realise that the days it feels most difficult are the days it’s MOST important to stay positive about myself
  • go to bed if it’s too painful to be awake
  • remember I am not well and stop expecting myself to behave as if I am. I don’t want to have invalid mentality, but I tend to go to the opposite extreme and expect myself to carry on as if I was fit and healthy and I’m not. The more I give in, the quicker I will get better (I’m talking about my other physical problems here, not my ED)
  • tell myself itfeels permanent, but it isn’t
